Brand Foundations+ Website Design
I was excited to work with a client that shared my first name. Wealthy Denae is an independent brand that supports Black women in developing the financial tools and wealth-building frameworks to live their best lives.
I always start with a brand exploration. We went through many logo iterations and eventually landed on this feminine and minimal logo suite.
I used the idea of the “melanin aesthetic” as inspiration for the brand’s color story. This photo represents the brand’s commitment to heritage, connection, and legacy. The client also wanted the flexibility to change colors seasonally if desired, so I also made sure to create a color palette that could represent all four seasons.
I selected a soulful serif typeface for headings and a minimalist secondary san serif Adobe typeface for copy.
The client requested graphic elements, so I created a fun color-blocked typographic design and visual elements that represented the growth path of her work and correlated with the seasonal theme she desired.
Creative Notes:
We always start with a site map, a wireframe of the homepage, and look and feel mockups.
I made some color changes to her clothes to compliment the brand identity.
I invest in image searching; I look for color, tone, symbolism, and diversity.
Launch Notes:
Before launching, I set clients up with a custom 404 error page. In this case, the site redirects to the homepage because there are minimal pages and navigation.
I onboard clients with several personalized video tutorials to help them navigate, edit and manage their new sites.
